I cannot take credit for this one. I'm a little jeal that I can't because... DUH! This is like my favorite coffee treat ever! WHY DIDN'T THINK OF THIS SOONER! I got inspired and slapped my forehead at the same time when i am a food blog's gorgeous photo popped up on my insta feed. But nope, I have just been driving myself to Berkeley for my little treat days and spending $4, plus bridge tolls, plus gas to get these puppies. Right now - this is EVERYTHING.
And though, like I said, I can't take the credit for this lovely bevie, I totally can obsess over it and make it for days to come and share it with every one I know. I've already sent photo texts to my other Philz Coffee lover friends in my life.
SO, I dabbled in how to recreate my own twist on my "treat yo self" coffee. Instead of brewing hot coffee and pouring it over ice, like Philz does, I decided to use my tried and true cold brew and add the minty flavor to make this concoction.
Cold brew is a staple in my fridge during the warmer months. It is easy to make and even easier to drink. I especially like it when I am running late and have no time to make hot coffee. It can be a life saver. You can see how I brew mine right HERE.
To make it into a Mint Cold Brew Coffee, you gotta get some fresh, juicy mint!
Look how pretty and green that bundle is! Pick about 15 leaves off and toss them in the bottom of a cup or glass then add some sugar and MUSH! Or muddled actually. I use my mortar from my mortar and pestle, but you can always use the end of a wood spoon too - works well in a pinch. Or get creative in your kitchen and use something else (and let me know what it is so I can try it!). Whatever you use, just make sure you mash up the mint and sugar pretty well together. After that, I like to add the coffee and milk and stir it all together. Add some ice to finish it off! And for those of you who have never been blessed with a Philz experience, trust. This shiz is good.
