Happy New Year my friends! The start to 2016 was a little rough for this chick. I came back from a vaca in Florida, ready to roll, but got shot down by a vicious death cold that wanted me to suffer big time. I guess that’s nature’s way of telling me I needed more rest? Three weeks off of work is a lot of rest...just saying. I did watch all of Making a Murderer, a season of Twin Peaks, and a bunch of movies. So there’s that.
When I started feeling better I was able to reflect on all 2015 gave me, which is SO much. It gave me the experience of becoming a triathlete 2x. I rode more miles on my bike on Highway 1 then I’ve driven. A buncha new, wonderful friends through my Team in Training experiences. Lots of mini vacas to Lake San Antonio, Santa Barbara, Austin, Portland, Santa Cruz, Seattle to name a few. Good things...good things happened in 2015. I expect nothing less for 2016. The year has some big ass shoes to fill though.
Every year I write down a few intentions for the next 12 months of my life. Things to work on a bit more. Be mindful of. Strive for. And to just be real with.
So here it goes...my 2016 INTENTIONS:
Get outa here. I got my passport last year so this year I plan to use it. Maybe a week in Costa Rica? A trip to Mexico? Canada even!
Lady friend time. Last year we didn’t do a girls trip! Alyson and I did a mini visit in Santa Barbara, but this year I’m working on getting all my lady friends together for a little weekend getaway.
Keep moving. I did a lot of moving and shaking last year and I don’t plan on stopping. So far, I’ve signed up to do America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride in Tahoe and Waves to Wine again. I’m hoping to expand on my yoga practice a bit more. And lift heavier weights! I got this!
Purge it. I went through my calendar and added "purge days" throughout the year. I realized since we haven't moved in 2 years - which is unheard of for us - we are acquiring more STUFF! I'm hoping to minimize a bit this year.
Be creative. I have lots of hobbies as it is, but I want to tap more into my creative side. The blog helps with that, but I am thinking of expanding a bit more if I have time. Knitting perhaps?
Keep on planning. I worked hard on my meal plans last year and I intend to keep doing more of that while incorporating some new recipes and food into the mix. I’m now on board with using the local SeaSA and CSA.
What's on your list for 2016?
