When I left Florida to move to Denver, I knew instantly I would desperately miss my beloved Publix. I mean, I know grocery stores aren't a big deal or a main attraction in most areas, but Publix was a one stop shop. They had good deals, nice quality meat and fish, plus, pub subs. Then, I moved to Denver and gained a local Whole Foods, which is like adult food heaven, but it is also known as Whole Paycheck for a reason. When I got to California, I found a local Trader Joe's. Hello! A weekly TJ's run is a must in my house and a lot of my main staples come from there. Several people have asked me about my favorite products there, so I thought I'd put together a little post to share my love. Let me start out by saying this post isn't sponsored by TJ's at all. I'm just a really big fan. <3
First up - GREENS! TJ's has the best pre-washed, ready to use greens. For busy weeks, I grab a couple bags and I'm good to go. No washing, no chopping. Done.
Along with the ready to go kale, the arugula is also always in my cart. I use this stuff to top my pizzas, burgers, and adds some green to grains salads.
Shaved Brussels - holy mugs. These are prefect for a quick salad or breakfast hash. I usually always have a bag handy.
Perfectly portioned nuggets of goat cheese. I love to throw these in my lunch and spread some on rice cakes with a pear and some turkey for a snacky.
All my cheese plates show off this gouda.
Cooked pork belly! Its like bacon and I make tacos out of it. It is pre-cooked, so the only part you need to do is warm it up. I've done it on the grill a few times - yes!
If I buy these, I have to put them in the back of the pantry so I don't eat them all at once. Addicting.
See above description. Same damn thing. THESE though, are my favorite, favorite.
Another pre-cooked jewel is this shrimp. Perfect for my lemony shrimp quinoa dish, on salad, or on the side of some risotto.
I keep a bag of this orange chicken in the freezer for Chris. He loves this stuff.
I've never been good at making brown rice, so this is perfect for me. I guess other people love it too, because it was about sold out today.
Where else can you get coconut oil for this price!? It is multi-purposeful too. Um, coconut popcorn any one?
I'm all about these quick grains.
A few, non food favorites - this shaving cream!
And body butter - this stuff is so great during the dry months (which is always now in CA). It is thick and stays on all day!
TACOS! Since I make my own taco seasoning, only buy the shells, not those kits any more. These are great and simple to store in the pantry.
ALLLLL the nuts and dry fruit. They have better prices than a lot of the bulk bin places.
I always grab these for road trips. Or unhealthy dinners with wine.
Another perfect cheese plate addition.
Almond, salted. Cashew. Sunbutter. All of them.
Cookie butter!! So good on graham crackers, waffles, toast, a spoon.
I always stop by the "what's new" sections and usually end up grabbing something fun to try out.
When I'm training for something, I love these!! They are such a good snack on the bike (or off).
Paired with hummus. Yum!
Blue tortilla chips - awesome.
I love this salsa verde, but don't use it enough!!
Another cheese plate must. I got my mom addicted to this puppies too :)
TJ's has a ton of fantastic dips too - I really want to re-create this one!
I'm sure I'm missing a few, but this is a good starting list. I mostly love their stuff because it is convenient and good quality. It makes meal prep and life in general just a tad bit easier.
Now I'm hungry.
