I post a lot on Instagram about my weekly meal prep and menu planning. I usually spend an hour or 2 on a Sunday figuring out what I have in my fridge/freezer, what I can do with it, and what I need to buy for the up coming week. It may seem like a lot of time, but it is so worth it (to me) when I can come home in the evening and barely have to think about what I'm going to eat.
It's a game plan people. Being prepared is like having the keys to the universe!
And sure there are times I get lazy, I run out of ideas, I don't prep things all the way or I just don't feel like eating what I had planned. That's ok, we can be flexible. We can adapt. This is just an outline, not etched into sacred stone or something.
With the comments I get about prepping food, some folks have asked what I have on my menu. So here it is! My menu for the week to come. I actually use a pen and paper to make my menu, but this is a similar set up. I use the day section and make notes for things I have to do during the week. Like Golden Globe Sunday or if I know I have dinner plans, or a late night out.
After I make my menu, I figure out what I need to prep, I make a grocery list and get to it. I am notorious for leaving my list at home or in the car so I have started using the app Evernote. Because I rarely go anywhere without my phone.
And actually, now that this is up and done...I am headed to the store to finish up!
